Can roll-off containers be placed in the street?
According to Scranton’s municipal code, any roll-off dumpster placed on street or highway within the City limits requires a permit issued by the Department of Permits, Licensing and inspections.
If the plan is to place the dumpster in your driveway, this permitting requirement does not apply. You’ll only need a permit if the dumpster is to be placed in the public right-of-way.

- 10 yard dumpster: 12 ft x 8 ftx 3.5 ft
- 20 yard dumpster: 22 ft x 8 ft x 4 ft
