Do I need to notify the City of Chesapeake if I'm renting a dumpster and placing it at my home?
If the dumpster or other storage container needs to stay on your property longer than 16 days, Chesapeake dumpster regulations require approval and a permit be issued by the Zoning Administrator.
The cost of the permit is $30 and can be completed by the property owner or the dumpster service and should be done within 24 hours of placing your dumpster.
Discuss with your selected dumpster rental provider whether notification or a permit is necessary and how it will be completed.
