When renting a dumpster, it is imperative that you pay attention to the weight limit of your dumpster. If you don’t, you will likely incur a penalty or have to take out the additional weight yourself. The best way to look at "weight limit" is the number of tons or pounds included in the price they gave you. If you go over the weight limit included in your dumpster quote, you'll have to pay a fee. For example, if you rent a 20 yard dumpster with a 4 ton weight limit and your dumpster weighs in at 5 tons, you'll have to pay a per-ton overage fee, which can add up fast.
