How much can I put in a construction dumpster?
The average weight allowance for 20 yard dumpsters is 4 tons (8,000 lbs). Some rental providers may offer a lower or higher weight allowance, so make sure you reach out to multiple dumpster providers and compare costs and weight allowances. Construction dumpsters should not be filled over the top, and you should pay close attention to each company's weight limits. With heavy debris, it’s important to keep the load height within the range specified by the dumpster rental company. This could be one-quarter of the way up, or even less in some cases.
